NEET UG 2024: Registration Started, Notification, Exam Date, Pattern of Exam, Centers and Admit Card

NEET UG 2024: National Testing Agency (NTA) an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained organization established by Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) have invited the applications for the NEET UG examination 2024. NTA started conducting NEET exam since 2019 for admission in the undergraduate medical education coursed.

The question paper of NEET will be based on the syllabus given in annexure IV of the notification available on the official NMC website. NEET UG exam paper comprises of four subjects, each subject consist of two
sections. The section A of paper will have 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions.

All the questions will be of multiple choice type in which the student have to select the single best or correct option.

Mode of Test and Duration of Test:

NEET UG 2024 is a pen and paper based test where students have to fill correct options in the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen is provided at the Centre. The test would be for 3 hours and 20 minutes for the 200 questions totaling for 720 marks.

Medium of Question paper:

The question paper of NEEt UG 2024 will be available in 13 languages and the candidate can opt for a Question Paper in any one of the following 13 languages.

The option chose by the student will be considered final and cannot be changed. The Candidate selecting the regional or hindi language will be provided with Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi or the regional language.

Eligibity Criteria for NEET UG 2024:

  • 17 years of age, there is no upper age limit
  • A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., class 12 in 2024
  • The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to class 12 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology
  • The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Biotechnology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject.
  • The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and the candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology with English at a level not less than a core course
  • The candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in the Regulations of NMC and DCI.
  • The criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS courses shall also be applicable to concerned INIs like AIIMS and JIPMER

Reservation Policy for Admission:

  • General category belonging to Economically Weaker Section (GEN- EWS) – 10% of seats in every course.
  • Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL) – 27% of seats in every course
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15% of seats in every course.
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats in every course.
  • Persons with Disability (PwBD) – 5% seats in each of GEN, GEN-EWS, OBCNCL, SC, and ST category seats (Horizontal reservation)

  • Students can apply online on https://neet.ntaonline.in/
  • Candidate’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name as given in the Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University Certificate in capital letters.
  • Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format as recorded in Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University certificate.
  • Identification Type: Candidates need to provide one document for identity details mentioned below in image.
  • Mobile Number and e-mail Address: Candidates must provide their own or Parents/Guardian Mobile Number and e-mail address only.
  • Provide complete postal address with PIN Code (Correspondence and permanent address) for further correspondence.
  • The candidate should select any four cities of their choice for examination of NEET (UG) – 2024 given in Appendix-VI.
  • The candidate has to fill in the complete academic details of the 10, 11 & 12/Qualifying Examination.
  • The following documents should be uploaded to support information furnished by you.
  • Latest Passport size Photograph in JPG format (size: 10 kb to 200 kb)
  • Post Card size photograph (4” X6”) in JPG format (Size: 10 kb – 200 kb)
  • Signature in JPG format (size: 4 kb to 30 kb)

Admit Card:

The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidates, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility
conditions. The eligible candidates can download the Admit Card from the NTA website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/) and appear for the Examination at the given Centre on the Date and timing as indicated in their Admit Card. The Admit Card release date will be updated on our website as well as official website.

Documents required on the day of Examination:

  • A printed copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA website with passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Application form pasted on it).
  • One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specific space in the Attendance Sheet at Centre during NEET (UG) – 2024 Examination.
  • One Post Card Size (4”X6”) color photograph with white background should be pasted on the Proforma downloaded with the Admit Card. The proforma with Post Card size photograph shall be handed over to the Invigilator in the Examination Hall.
  • Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original and valid and like PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhaar Card /Ration Card/ Class 12 Admit Card with Photograph /any other valid photo ID issued by the Government.
  • PwBD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwBD category.
